Ugly Room Photo Contest Rules
Before submitting a photo to the contest, please read the following rules carefully.
Service First Federal Credit Union reserves the right to reject images that it deems unsuitable.
Public Viewing and Granting of Limited Rights
By submitting your photo, you acknowledge and agree that your photo will be displayed to the public. Your image will be included on the Ugly Room Contest website, on the Service First Federal Credit Union website, or in other promotional materials.
By submitting your photo, you are allowing Service First Federal Credit Union to publish the photo on our website or in other electronic or printed promotional materials.
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. You are not allowed to submit a photo taken by another person. You must be the sole owner of the image that you submit. Your photo submission is your guarantee that you are the author and owner of the photo.
Additional Contest Rules
In addition to the terms and conditions above, contest entries must abide by the following rules.
Contest photo entries may be submitted digitally via email to uglyroom@servicefirstfcu.org, or uploaded using the entry form on www.uglyroomcontest.com. The maximum allowed file size is 2MB. Accepted formats are .gif, .jpg, and .png. Mailed in entries are not allowed. Service First Federal Credit Union will not be held responsible for mailed slides, negatives, or prints.
Service First will award 3 prizes of $500 each. Photos will be voted on the month after they are submitted. Photos can be submitted starting on August 1st, 2009. Photos submitted in August will be voted on in September, photos submitted in September will be voted on in October, and photos submitted in October will be voted on in November. Submissions will not be accepted after October 31st, 2009. Contest entrants can submit a photo of any given room of their house one (1) time throughout the duration of the contest. The contest will be limited to the first fifty (50) photo submissions each month. If a photo is submitted in any given month after the monthly limit has already been reached, it will be included in the next month's voting, as long as that monthly submission limit has not already been reached as well. Total contest submissions will be limited to the first one hundred and fifty (150) qualifying photos that have been submitted. Voting will be done online at www.uglyroomcontest.com through a custom voting form. Only one vote per person will be allowed per month.
Before being awarded a prize, contest winners may be required to sign an affidavit indicating that he or she is in fact the photographer who created the photo, that he or she is the owner of the home in which the photo was taken, and that he or she has written releases for people appearing in the photographs.
Service First Federal Credit Union will attempt to contact prize winners through email and by phone. If the winner does not reply to Service First's contacts and claim the prize within 10 days, the prize will be forfeited and the photo with the second largest amount of votes for that given month will be awarded the prize.
Prize winners agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and release Service First Federal Credit Union, its staff, officers, and affiliated entities from loss, claim, injury, damage or expense, including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees and costs, which are in any way connected or associated with the use of any prizes received by the credit union.
Winners must be at least 18 years of age and be the legal owner of the home in which the photo is taken.
The odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received and/or the number of contestants participating in the contest.
Employees of Service First Federal Credit Union and their immediate families are ineligible to win.
The contest is governed by the laws of the State of South Dakota.
