- ALERT!! Phone Scam currently happening in our area.
Once again, there is a phone scam being executed in the area. The automated message says "This is the Federated Credit Union. Your debit card has been locked. To reactivate your debit card press 1" and then the call asks you to key in your card number and other data.
The calls are being made to random telephone numbers and seem to be originating from several different numbers.
If you receive one of these phone calls, rest assured that your account information has not been compromised. However, if you keyed in your Checkcard number or any other information on the call, call us immediately at 605-274-9118.
If the automated call is not answered it will often leave a message with a telephone number for a return call. The telephone number provided by the scammers is for a legitimate business that is not involved in the scam.
